If you need to know how to lose weight than you need to be aware that any good weight loss program should provide a calorie controlled plan to enable you to lose weight so it is not essential for you to embark on an intensive exercise program.

In the UK, it is recommended that you engage in at least 30-60 minutes of physical activity per day for general health and weight management. The National Guidelines for Physical Activity in Ireland suggest that adults aged 18-64 need at least 30 minutes of moderate activity per day, five days per week.Why not try some of these tips for increasing your physical activity?

  • Park the car further away from you destination and walk the rest of the way
  • Get an exercise buddy so you can both encourage each other
  • Take the stairs instead of the lift or escalator
  • Go for a walk during your lunch break
  • Go to the park and play with your kids after school
  • Take up a social sport like tennis or football with friends and family
  • Wear a pedometer and increase the number of steps you take do each day
